I ended up talking to a windows engineer live on line who insisted he could fix this problem with remote control with my computer while I watch.
Any suggestions as all worked in Windows 7. Restart the system and now you should have access to your optical drives. After rebooting, I was relieved to see my DVD-Drive working properly again. Method 1 worked perfectly.
